Biden Condemns Trump’s Destruction of White House East Wing

Biden’s Strong Criticism of Trump at Fundraising Event

Former U.S. President Joe Biden delivered a powerful and politically charged speech on the 7th, where he strongly criticized former President Donald Trump. In his remarks, Biden stated, “He has destroyed the constitution, the rule of law, and democracy itself.” This was the first time since Biden left office in January that he has made such a direct and intense political statement, as he has been focusing on his treatment for prostate cancer.

The speech took place at a Democratic Party fundraising dinner in Omaha, Nebraska. During the event, Biden took aim at Trump’s recent decision to demolish part of the White House East Wing and build a banquet hall that spans 8,361 square meters (approximately 2,530 pyeong). He remarked, “I knew Trump would destroy America, but I didn’t expect him to come out swinging a wrecking ball.”

Biden also commented on Trump’s claim that the current era is a “golden age.” He responded with, “But the only gold is what he hangs on the railings.” This statement alludes to Trump’s well-known preference for gold, as he has added several golden decorations both inside and outside the White House since the start of his second term. Addressing Trump directly, Biden emphasized, “Frankly, you are acting in a way that shames us as a nation. Mr. President, you work for us—not billionaires or millionaires.”

Democratic Party’s Recent Successes

In addition to his criticism of Trump, Biden expressed clear satisfaction over the Democratic Party’s recent landslide victories in New York, Virginia, and New Jersey. He declared, “The Democratic Party is back,” and argued that these results show “the American people are sending a message condemning Trump and his supporters’ policies.”

Biden further highlighted the importance of democracy, stating, “Even in the United States, democracy is not guaranteed. We must strive for it ourselves. We must elect leaders who advocate for, defend, and protect democracy.” His comments underscored the need for continued vigilance and active participation in the democratic process.

A Call to Action

Throughout his speech, Biden emphasized the responsibility of citizens to uphold democratic values and ensure that leaders serve the public interest rather than private interests. His remarks reflected a deep concern about the direction of the country under Trump’s leadership and a commitment to defending the principles of democracy.

As the political landscape continues to evolve, Biden’s speech serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining strong democratic institutions and the role of every citizen in preserving them. His words were not only a critique of the current administration but also a call to action for the Democratic Party and its supporters to remain engaged and vigilant in the face of challenges to democratic governance.
