The Tablighi Congregation: A Global Gathering of Faith
The annual international Tablighi Congregation kicked off at the Raiwind Markaz on Thursday, attracting thousands of participants from across Pakistan and around the world. This significant religious event is expected to draw a large number of attendees, with the first phase concluding on Sunday following a special prayer (dua).
The congregation began with a powerful sermon delivered by Maulana Muhammad Ahmed Batla, marking the official start of the four-day event. Religious scholars from India and Bangladesh are also set to participate, delivering sermons and addressing the gathering throughout the event.
Organizers have divided the Tablighi Ijtema into two phases to better manage the massive turnout. The first phase will end on November 9, with participation from various regions including Upper Dir, Bajaur, Chitral, Sargodha, Mianwali, Jhang, Sindh, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Chakwal, Jhelum, Attock, Kashmir, Mardan, Buner, and Karak.
To ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety, a substantial number of city traffic police and patrol police have been deployed around the venue. This measure aims to prevent congestion and maintain order during the large-scale gathering.
A few days prior to the event, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Tablighi Markaz in Raiwind. During his visit, he met with senior leaders of the Tablighi Jamaat, including Maulana Muhammad Ahmed, Maulana Ubaidullah Khurshid, and Dr. Saleem. The Jamaat leaders provided the minister with an overview of the arrangements for the annual congregation.
Minister Naqvi praised the Tablighi Jamaat’s efforts in promoting Islam and assured full government support for foreign delegations attending the event. He emphasized the importance of facilitating international participants and pledged to address any visa-related issues faced by them on a priority basis.
This commitment to ensuring smooth participation highlights the significance of the event not only within Pakistan but also on a global scale. The Tablighi Congregation serves as a platform for Muslims from different backgrounds to come together, share their faith, and strengthen their spiritual connections.
