Osun 2026: NNPP Sets Dec 13 Primary Date

New Nigeria Peoples Party Sets Date for Governorship Primary in Osun State

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has officially scheduled its governorship primary for December 13, marking a significant step in its preparations for the 2026 governorship election in Osun State. This decision was announced by the state chairman of the party, Tosin Odeyemi, who shared the details with a correspondent in Osogbo, the state capital.

Odeyemi emphasized that the party is making all necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth and successful primary election. He stated that the NNPP is not only participating in the upcoming poll but is also determined to secure victory. The party is currently considering multiple candidates, with several aspirants already expressing interest. Odeyemi noted that the 2026 election will be a different experience in Osun, as the party aims to bring unexpected outcomes.

A New Political Force in Osun

Odeyemi described the NNPP as “a new bride in Osun,” highlighting the party’s potential to gain support due to the challenges faced by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the internal divisions within the All Progressives Congress (APC). He explained that people are beginning to view the NNPP as a third political force that could offer better opportunities for growth and development.

He further mentioned that the party is operating discreetly and that there are signs of strong public support for whoever emerges as the candidate after the primary. Odeyemi encouraged party members to actively promote the NNPP’s programs, which are designed to address the current economic challenges facing Nigerians.
